Which Spokes are Best to Start With?Updated a year ago

When first starting out on a dragon staff you might be surprised to see how many options there are for spokes. There is no one size fits all as it is a choice of personal preference but we can share with you our experience with each type of spoke to help with the decision making.

FIRE SPOKES

Spinning with fire is usually what most people see first when it comes to spinning. It's eye catching and dangerous looking. It does have its inherent risks but it's not as scary as what many people think. We have two fire spokes available – 2" Sushi Roll and Isis Wicks

2" SUSHI ROLL

These are suited for any fire spinner. They have an impressive flame while still being fairly manageable. They are a great weight and a good all rounder fire spoke.

ISIS WICKS

These are suited to more experienced spinners and for professionals. They are hotter burning with a larger flame. They also absorb more fuel so burn for longer making them good for fire performing. These are heavier than the sushi roll wicks, four on each end results in quite a heavy dragon when soaked in fuel.

SPIRAL CLAWS

These spokes create mesmerising spirals when spun. They are brightly coloured with more weight to them. This makes them great for practising new moves as the extra weight slows down the spinning giving you more time between manoeuvres. They are great for anyone, for learning or more experienced spinners.

LUMI LED HEADS

These are a super fun nighttime option. They display many different LED settings to light up the night. They are a slightly lighter spoke/hub option but still offer good weight for tricks. Fun to use outdoor or indoors and obviously most fun in the dark or at night.
